HOPE Scholarship
- Awarded $4500 for years one and two; $5700 for years three and four.
- Students must maintain a minimum 2.75 GPA during the first 48 credit hours earned and 3.0 subsequent terms until graduation.
- Funding is dependent upon classes being in student鈥檚 program of study (CPOS)
- The HOPE scholarship is awarded for up to 5 years or until a student receives their Bachelor's Degree, whichever comes first.
- Students who start the semester as a full-time student must remain full time throughout the semester, or they will no longer be eligible for the HOPE Scholarship.
- Students enrolled a minimum of 6 hours over the summer may be eligible to receive a HOPE award.
- Aspire Award: An additional $1500 is awarded to HOPE Scholarship recipients whose family reports an adjusted gross income of $36,000 or less.
- GAMS Supplement: An additional $1000 is available to HOPE Scholarship recipients based on academic performance in high-school. Students must have scored a minimum of 29 on the ACT (or equivalent score on SAT) AND a minimum 3.75 final GPA based on uniform grading policy. Students must be HOPE eligible and not qualify for the Aspire Award.
HOPE Scholarship Eligibility/Renewal Requirements
- We will confirm your continued full-time enrollment within your program of study (CPOS) with TSAC and check to make sure that you are meeting the eligibility requirements. We will report your GPA at the following benchmarks: At the end of the semesters that you complete 24 hours and 48 hours you must have a cumulative GPA of 2.75, at the end of the semesters that you complete 72 and 96 hours you must have a cumulative GPA of 3.00
- If you have the ASPIRE supplement, eligibility to renew this supplement will be based on your family鈥檚 AGI each year.
We will confirm your continued full-time enrollment with TSAC. Please be aware that if you withdraw from a class it might affect your scholarship as you need to maintain full time enrollment (12 credit hours) throughout the entirety of each semester or you may become permanently ineligible.
Ned McWherter Scholarship
A $3000 competitive scholarship awarded to entering first-years who scored a minimum of 29 on the ACT (or equivalent SAT score) AND a minimum 3.5 final GPA based on uniform grading policy. A 3.0 GPA must be maintained in college for renewal up to 8 consecutive terms, and students must be enrolled full time.
TSAA State Grant
Tennessee Student Assistance Award (TSAA): Students who are residents of Tennessee apply for the TSAA via the FAFSA. To be eligible, a student must have:
- Graduated from a Tennessee high school
- US Citizenship status
- Been a continuous resident of Tennessee for the twelve-month period preceding
the start of the academic year for which the grant is made. - An SAI of $5000 or below (subject to change per state funding) each year the
student applies. Eligibility may change according to the information submitted on
the FAFSA. - To renew the award, students must complete the FAFSA before March 1
annually. - Enrollment in classes that are part of the student鈥檚 program of study (CPOS)
