How do I receive my financial aid?
Your aid will be credited to your student account the first week of semester, provided you are attending the number of credits required by your financial aid. Your account can be viewed in WorkDay (Nelnet). Please make sure you have gone to LynxPartner>Required Documents to make sure you do not have any outstanding requirements as that may delay the delivery of aid to your account.
How often does financial aid disburse?
Financial aid is set to disburse once in the fall and once in the spring semester, or as students complete the requirements necessary to receive aid.
How long am I eligible for financial aid?
ÌÇÐÄvlogÊÓÆµ provides eligible students with institutional merit scholarship and grants for up to eight (8) semesters or the completion of their ÌÇÐÄvlogÊÓÆµ degree, whichever comes first. Students may receive federal aid (Pell, SEOG and Federal Student Loans) for up to 6 years for a four year program if they qualify with the completion of the FAFSA. Tennessee State Awareds typically expire after 8 semesters.
What is required to keep my financial aid?
All financial aid require you maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of no less than 2.0 by the end of your second year and successfully complete no less than 67% of the classes you begin. This requirement is referred to as Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP). More detail can be found in the ÌÇÐÄvlogÊÓÆµ Catalogue.
Merit Scholarships have a higher GPA requirement.
- Cambridge, Morse, Hon, Presidential, Diehl, Day, Music, Art, Spencer and Bonner require a minimum cumulative 2.5 GPA.
- HOPE, TN Aspire, TN GAMS require a minimum cumulative 2.75 GPA prior to attempting 72 credit hours and 3.0 GPA beyond 72 hours.
What happens if I withdraw from a class?
Withdrawing from only one class after census will not have any immediate impact to your financial aid as you will be considered full-time for financial aid purposes. But the withdrawal will be used when calculating the percentage of classes you have completed successfully for SAP standards. You should also be aware to graduate within the allotted 8 semesters require students to maintain on average 16 credit hours per semester.
What happens if I withdraw or take a Leave of Absence from ÌÇÐÄvlogÊÓÆµ during the semester?
Withdrawing may impact your eligibility for federal, state and institutional grants and loans, scholarships and third-party sponsorships for the current term as well as future terms. Following your withdrawal, all of your aid will be recalculated and you may have to return all or part of your aid for this term. Your withdrawal may result in a balance due on your account. The semester will also count as one of the eight semesters you have of aid eligibility.
Can I appeal my financial aid if I have special financial circumstances?
Yes, if your family has experienced a change in financial circumstances (such as loss of employment, separation or divorce, or death of a parent) that is not adequately reflected on your FAFSA application, you may complete our Change of Financial Circumstances Form. In an effort to determine the need of our families and to best distribute any available awards we are asking families to complete the attached .

Do I need to notify ÌÇÐÄvlogÊÓÆµ College if I receive outside financial assistance, such as scholarships, grants, loans (other than student loans), or tuition reimbursement?
Yes, you should report any and all additional financial assistance to the Office of Student Financial Aid. In general in may affect the amount or type of student loan you may be eligible based on federal guidelines.
What additional aid may I apply to help pay for college?
In addition to the financial aid offered in the form of scholarships, grants and/or loans, families may also apply for a to assist them. A parent or grandparents may apply for this federal loan for an amount up to the estimated cost of attendance.

Where can I go to view my tuition bill and make a payment online?
Students can view their billing statements electronically . A new page will open and from there students can view "Your bills" which are static as of a point in time, review "Your Account," which is the live & most current version of each billing statement, review recent payments, enroll in payment plans, sign up for electronic refunds, or enroll an authorized payer who will be enabled to then receive tuition statements.
When do I have to pay my tuition bill?
The Bursar’s Office will send your billing statement electronically for the fall semester in July and the spring billing statement in November. Check and cash payments are accepted in person at ÌÇÐÄvlogÊÓÆµ Express in Burrow Hall, and paper checks can be mailed to ÌÇÐÄvlogÊÓÆµ Express. Please include the student’s name and ÌÇÐÄvlogÊÓÆµ ID number.
Does ÌÇÐÄvlogÊÓÆµ have a payment plan?
Yes, we offer a payment plan serviced by Nelnet Campus Commerce. This plan is an interest-free way to spread tuition payments over the course of a semester. Plans are now available per term, an enrollment fee is required to participate. The fall semester payments are due the 5th of each month from August through December, and the spring semester payments are due the 5th of each month from January through May. The only additional amount charged for paying the bill via a monthly payment plan is a $47 enrollment fee per semester, which is payable with the first installment each semester. What if my parents do not contribute towards my education?
The FAFSA and CSS Profile contain dependency questions that determine whether a student is dependent or independent. If you do not meet the conditions to be considered an independent student, your parents must provide their information even if they will not contribute financially towards your education.

Do I need to complete a FAFSA and CSS Profile every year?
All returning students seeking Federal Grant, Federal Student Employment, Federal Loans, TN State Grant or TN State Scholarships, must submit the FAFSA every year.
All incoming students must complete the CSS PROFILE and the FAFSA to receive the maximum amount of aid for which they are eligible.
How do I make corrections on my FAFSA?

I have been selected for "Verification." What does that mean?
Verification is a process initiated by the U.S. Department of Education or by the Financial Aid Office, requiring you to submit a Verification Worksheet (see our Marist Application for Financial Aid), IRS Tax documents, and other documents to the Office of Student Financial Services. If your application is selected for verification, you will not be eligible for Federal Aid until this process is finalized. To avoid unnecessary delays, please submit all required documents promptly.
What can I do if I have unusual circumstances that prevent me from reporting parent information on my FAFSA?
Students with unusual circumstances (such as parental abandonment, abuse, or incarceration) are encouraged to reach out to the Office of Student Financial Aid to explain their situation and provide supporting documentation. Our committee will review each situation on a case-by-case basis to determine if a dependency override can be granted. This would allow the student to be viewed as an independent student for financial aid purposes. We will review all requests for a determination of independence as quickly as possible but no later than 60 days after the student enrolls or 60 days after the request is made. If all documentation is not received within 60 days, the request may be denied.
Are the loans for the full year?
All Loans are applied as full year unless otherwise specified. Direct Loans are given on an annual basis and the amount is determined by the students class level (First-Year, Sophomore, Junior, Senior, Adult Undergraduate, Graduate) as well as cost of attendance.
All graduate students are awarded the maximum amount of loan allocation, up to the cost of attendance, less any other financial aid.
How do I accept a partial or full amount of my Federal Direct Loan?
. Once logged in using the FSA ID and password, the student and parent will be able to view their loan details, discover who their loan servicer is, and review information regarding repayment.

What is the Financial Aid deadline for first-year students?
The Financial Aid Preferred FAFSA/CSS Profile Deadlines:

- Early Action (EA): November 15th

No. ÌÇÐÄvlogÊÓÆµ requires the CSS Profile for first-year and transfer students.

Is it possible to receive Financial Aid for a Ninth (9th) Semester?
Students may apply for one additional term of aid during their senior year if they feel they may not graduate in 8 semesters.
9th Semester Award Criteria: ÌÇÐÄvlogÊÓÆµ provides eligible students with institutional merit scholarship and grants for up to eight semesters or the completion of their ÌÇÐÄvlogÊÓÆµ degree, whichever comes first. Students wishing to continue their education for a 9th semester may apply for an exception to this policy by completing this application. ÌÇÐÄvlogÊÓÆµ may, depending on available resources and demonstrated need, limit the 9th semester award(s) not to exceed 50% of tuition for the enrolled semester. Students may enroll less than full-time for the 9th semester of aid; in such case they will receive a prorated disbursement of the 9th semester award. ÌÇÐÄvlogÊÓÆµ will not provide institutional funding to replace state or federal assistance that has been exhausted by prior enrollment. The awarding of the exception applies to 9th semester and does not extend to semesters beyond that period.
To request aid to assist you for the 9th term you must complete and you must complete a Free Application for Federal Aid ( FAFSA) for the year you wish to apply listing ÌÇÐÄvlogÊÓÆµ as your intended school. Once we receive both of these documents we can determine your eligibility for institutional and federal aid.
