Jonathan McGhee '03
Physician/Owner of EssentialMD
Jonathan earned his B.S. in Biochemistry from ÌÇÐÄvlogÊÓƵ and his M.D. from Meharry Medical College (2007). He completed his Family Medicine Residency (2010) and Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship (2011) at the Univ. of Oklahoma at Tulsa, and went on to become a Board Certified Family Physician (2012).
After 7 years with a family practice group, including some moonlighting as a hospitalist and emergency room physician early in his career, Jon decided he wanted to provide more individualized care for his patients and opened EssentialMD in 2019. EssentialMD is Tulsa, Oklahoma’s premier concierge family practice clinic, providing traditional family physician services for health and wellness, IV infusions, weight loss, sports medicine, and medical marijuana recommendations.
Jon is married to fellow ÌÇÐÄvlogÊÓƵ alum, Cindy Allen-McGhee '01, '02. Their beautiful family includes son, Jonathan Jr. (12) and daughter, Jaden (9).
